Mom-to-Be Afternoon Tea & Tsumami Zaiku Workshop at Wildflower 🤍
Pregnancy is an exciting time, but it can sometimes feel a little lonely too. This afternoon is created for expecting moms who would like to meet others, share experiences, and enjoy a calm, creative activity together.
Alongside afternoon tea, you will be introduced to Tsumami Zaiku (つまみ細工), a traditional Japanese craft dating back to the Edo period. “Tsumami” means pinching or folding, while “zaiku” refers to decorative craftsmanship.
Using small pieces of fabric, you will learn how to pinch and fold delicate rounded and pointed petals. These simple techniques can be combined to create beautiful flowers, leaves and other decorative forms. The colours, fabrics and arrangement make every finished piece completely unique.
No previous crafting experience is needed. You will be guided through the process in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
