About the event
Raising Multilingual Children: A Parent’s Afternoon
Are you raising your child with more than one language, expecting your first child, or curious about multilingual family life?
Join us at Café Wildflower for a warm and welcoming afternoon exploring the joys and challenges of raising multilingual children. Led by Annika Milena Schimpff, PhD researcher in Applied Linguistics, the event combines research-based insights with practical guidance and personal reflection.
Over afternoon tea, Annika will discuss how children learn and maintain multiple languages, common myths about multilingualism, and the connection between language, identity, and emotions. There will also be time for questions and guided activities to help you explore your family’s language journey and find an approach that works for you.
Your ticket includes afternoon tea, the presentation, guided reflection activities, and a take-home booklet with practical exercises, recommended reading, and additional resources.
The event is suitable for expectant parents, parents of children…
